When and how to pay for service 

Due to the fact that the client and I don’t meet in person and instead I work remotely, I can’t put myself in a position where I could potentially have to chase payment. Therefore, a client must prepay for service. 

For an appointment, a prepayment is made at the time the client makes the booking online. The booking cannot be made without the payment also being made. Payment is facilitated through Paypal, but please note that a client is not required to have a Paypal account – they can simply pay using their credit card if they don’t have a Paypal account. 

For work done on a retainer fee, the funds are sent to me before I commence the work that it is to pay for. This can also be done through Paypal or e-transfer directly from your bank, but please do not try to send me funds unless we have discussed the job and I have agreed to take it on. I will not accept funds unless I have already issued to the client, in writing via email, what is our agreement for the work. Unused time is refunded to the client upon completion of the work, unless the client requests that I hold onto it for further work. 

Please note that I do not carry fees for clients. For example, a client does not have the option to defer payment until their lawsuit is concluded and they are (hopefully) due to receive the settlement they have been expecting.
